Please note: A data DOI meets the Chief Directorate requirement for a publication.

In order to receive a DOI the datasets should be formatted in a community-accepted standard and should have gone through quality assurance by a person with the relevant knowledge. Once you have filled in a metadata record for a dataset that meets these criteria, you can submit a ticket to the Data Curation team to request a DOI be assigned to it. There are certain metadata elements that will be mandatory in order to assign a DOI to the data, so the data curators will help make sure that you have all the necessary elements filled in.
